One day in kolhapur, India

Recently I Visited goa, so of course yes I travelled by road only and from hometown to goa it was almost 500-700 km so I took one night stay in kolhapur City which is very beautiful. Have many ancient Places so here I’m sharing my experiences.

Mahalaksmi Temple

Started my day with this beautiful Mahalakshmi Temple also known as ambabai mandir. It is located in main ancient city of kolhapur. The temple was build in 7th Century. The image of mahalakshmi carved in black stone. The image of mahalakshmi faces to the east side and on the east side is the entrance of temple. If you visit this place On 21 St March and september, you can see the light of the Setting sun falls on the face of the idol for 3 days.

Rankala Lake

Rankala Lake is the best place to spend your evening in kolhapur. Recently municipalty have build the walk way & and some Park in surrounding area. Located in the heart of the city.

These two are the places which are famous in the city. Outside around 10-15 km away there is one more interesting place to visit & that is the Famous ” Panhala Fort ”. Unfortunately due to lack of time I couldn’t visit this place but trust me it is interesting place and must visited once.

If you want to explore kolhapur City then let me tell you it is famous for kolhapuri chappal (चप्पल) means flip-flops you can find anywhere near Mahalaksmi Temple. And 2nd is Indian spices! If you want add some spice or taste in your food then you must try!

So did you like it? Please let me know!

Thank you!!
